Da un racconto di N. Young. Condannato per omicidio, il giovane Vince impara in carcere a pizzicare la chitarra e, scontata la pena e uscito sulla parola per buona condotta, diventa un cantante famoso. Il successo gli dà alla testa, ma rinsavisce. Forse il miglior film di Presley, e non solo perché è meno fatuo degli altri. Una bella colonna musicale con “Treat Me Nice” e “Don't Leave Me Now” e la canzone del titolo (“Jailhouse Rock”), con un numero di danza coreografato dallo stesso Presley. Esiste anche un'edizione colorizzata.
