Un satellite artificiale precipita dallo spazio su un paesino del New Mexico, e gli abitanti muoiono di una misteriosa malattia. I soli sopravvissuti, un vecchio e un bambino vengono rinchiusi insieme all'Ufo in un laboratorio con sistema di autodistruzione, onde bloccare eventuali "fughe" e rischi di contaminazione dell'ambiente esterno.
