Una squadra di basket completa di giocatori, riserve, allenatori e cheerleaders fa ritorno col proprio autobus dal Campionato studentesco. Dopo un incidente apparentemente casuale, che li costringe ad una sosta forzata, vengono attaccati da un'orribile creatura alata che uccide gli adulti del gruppo. Si tratta di un antico demone che ogni 23 anni, per 23 giorni, risorge dal suo letargo per nutrirsi. Siamo al 22esimo giorno e the Creeper si prepara per l’ultimo banchetto. Il demone terrà il gruppo sotto scacco, decimandolo, fino a quando Jack Taggart, un contadino del luogo, al quale l’essere ha sottratto il figlioletto più piccolo, non interverrà per salvare i giovani e vendicarsi.
