Adonis Creed, figlio illegittimo di Apollo, non ha mai conosciuto suo padre, morto sul ring prima che Adonis nascesse. Educato nell'agio dalla moglie di Apollo dopo un'infanzia difficile, Adonis ha un lavoro sicuro ma sceglie comunque la boxe e la strada, non può opporre resistenza al richiamo del destino. Per diventare un pugile professionista si rivolge all'unico uomo che può aiutarlo e insieme avvicinarlo a quel padre che non conoscerà mai: l'amico-rivale di Apollo, Rocky Balboa.
