1952. Due giovani studenti universitari, Alberto Granado ed Ernesto Guevara partono per un viaggio in moto che li deve portare ad attraversare diversi paesi del continente latinoamericano. Quella che doveva essere un'avventura giovanile si trasforma progressivamente nella presa di coscienza della condizione di indigenza in cui versa gran parte della popolazione. Quel viaggio cambiera' nel profondo i due uomini. Uno di loro diventera' il mitico "Che" mentre l'altro, ancora vivente, e' medico a Cuba.
