La serie è incentrata su quattro amici che gestiscono un pub irlandese nella periferia di Filadelfia. Tutti i protagonisti sono estremamente disonesti, nullafacenti, egoisti e manipolatori. Nel corso delle puntate si lasciano andare a bevute e chiacchiere al limite del politicamente scorretto, affrontando temi quali aborto, razzismo, omosessualità, terrorismo, pedofilia, incesto, prostituzione, nazismo, necrofilia e molti altri.
