Tratto dal famoso romanzo di Douglas Adams, narra di un viaggio avventuroso attraverso le galassie di un gruppo di alieni in cerca del "senso della vita". Arthur Dent è un tranquillo abitante della Terra che non si è mai chiesto cosa ci sia oltre la galassia e che improvvisamente si trova a vivere il giorno peggiore e più sconvolgente della sua vita. Una mattina scopre che: la sua casa sta per essere abbattuta da un bulldozer, il suo miglior amico in realtà è un extraterrestre in missione sulla terra e il Pianeta Terra sta per essere distrutto. L'unica speranza che gli resta è fuggire via prima che sia troppo tardi.
