Un tempo il maggiore Dundee e il tenente Tyreen erano amici. Ora il primo è un ufficiale nordista spedito nel New Mexico per eliminare il pericoloso capo indiano Sierra Charriba, mentre il secondo è soltanto uno dei tanti sudisti prigionieri.
