Due uomini e mezzo

Due fratelli, Charlie e Alan, per necessità si trovano a condividere lo stesso tetto, una grande villa sulla spiaggia. I due, però, sono molto differenti tra loro , sia per carattere che per stile di vita. Da un lato c'è Charlie (proprietario della casa) che di professione fa il compositore musicale per jingle pubblicitari e con un carattere molto estroverso, sicuro di se, estremamente viziato e con un gran successo con il sesso femminile. Dall'altro c'è Alan, che di professione fa il chiropratico e che invece sembra essere l'esatto opposto; uomo mite, tranquillo, molto preciso, separato e con un figlio di dieci anni di nome Jake al seguito. I due uomini e mezzo quindi danno vita a storie comiche nelle quali spesso entra prepotentemente anche la madre dei fratelli, Evelyn, una ricca agente immobiliare ma con la quale i due, sia Charlie che Alan, hanno un rapporto conflittuale.
