Dopo non essersi parlati per diversi anni, Paperon de' Paperoni e Paperino si riavvicinano dopo che quest'ultimo chiede allo zio di badare per la giornata ai suoi nipoti Qui, Quo e Qua. La presenza dei nipoti riaccende la sete di avventura di Paperone, che conduce la famiglia in numerose imprese alla ricerca di tesori e misteri mentre i nipoti, aiutati da Gaia, sono decisi a scoprire i veri motivi che portarono gli zii a litigare e allontanarsi l'uno dall'altro, nonché a svelare il segreto dietro la scomparsa della loro madre Della.
