Danny ha trascorso una vacanza estiva romantica con la bionda e dolce Sandy. La ragazza però è ripartita per l'Australia o, almeno, così avrebbe dovuto essere. Invece Danny la ritrova nella sua scuola media superiore. Sandy è rimasta negli States ma Danny ha una fama da sciupa femmine da difendere e quindi quando la incontra deve fingere disinteresse. Ha inizio così un tira e molla tra i due attorno al quale si sviluppano altre vicende amorose. Prima fra tutte quella di Betty Rizzo, leader incontrastata delle Pink che, a sua volta si è costruita un'immagine spregiudicata ma che, come tutte, sogna l'amore che duri.
