In una Los Angeles devastata dalla criminalità, un poliziotto violento si mette nei guai con un efferato malvivente. Entrambi vengono ibernati per subire un programma di rieducazione. Nel 2032 il criminale riesce a fuggire e semina morte in città. Giovane poliziotta fa allora scongelare anche il collega per farsi aiutare nella caccia. Esordio a Hollywood dell'italiano Brambilla con un film d'avventure non privo d'ironia (quando il protagonista si sveglia, scopre che il presidente USA è Schwarzenegger), ma imperniato soprattutto sullo spettacolo acrobatico e sulla suspense delle azioni. Credibile, poco; reazionario, molto.
