Il giovane Hercules, dotato di una forza sovraumana, scopre la verità sul suo passato: è il figlio del grande Zeus. Affiancato dal fedele Pegaso, il cavallo alato, e dall'esilarante Phil, il suo allenatore personale, Hercules dovrà affrontare Ade, il perfido signore delle Tenebre, nemico degli dei. Solo quando avrà finalmente imparato che ciò che conta non è la forza dei muscoli ma quella del cuore, Hercules riuscirà a salvare la bella Megara, a sconfiggere Ade e a tornare sul monte Olimpo.
