Sequel della fortunata commedia familiare "Gli amici di papà". Stephanie, DJ e Kimmy sono cresciute ormai e vivono la loro vita da adulte, ma papà e zio Jesse non sono poi così lontani; DJ Tanner-Fuller è rimasta vedova e ha tre figli da crescere. Le cose diventano troppo pesanti per lei e chiede aiuto a sua sorella Stephanie e alla sua migliore amica Kimmy.
