Remy è un topolino dotato di un olfatto straordinario e di un talento naturale per la buona cucina. Dopo una serie di rocamboleschi accadimenti, si trova separato dalla sua colonia e finisce a Parigi, sede del ristorante che porta il nome del suo Chef preferito: il famoso Gusteau. Qui Remy fa conoscenza con il giovane ed imbranato Linguini, un timido sguattero, che, grazie ai consigli del topo-chef, diventa ben presto famoso e celebrato. I due sembrano invincibili ma resta da superare il giudizio del temibile Anton Ego, il più feroce tra i critici culinari francesi....
