Mikael Blomkvist è un giornalista celebre per il suo impegno e per una condanna di diffamazione, collezionata dopo aver attentato alla reputazione di un infido uomo d'affari. Selvatica e bellicosa Lisbeth è attratta dalla riservatezza e dall'integrità di Mikael, che seduce, corteggia e prova a innamorare.
