La storia di “Edge of Tomorrow” si svolge in un futuro prossimo in cui una razza aliena ha colpito la Terra con un implacabile assalto che nessuno esercito al mondo riesce a respingere. Il tenente William Cage è un ufficiale che non ha mai partecipato neppure a un giorno di combattimento quando viene inviato senza tanti complimenti a compiere una missione suicida. Ucciso in pochi minuti, incredibilmente Cage si risveglia ed è costretto a combattere e a morire ancora e ancora, in un continuo loop temporale. Ma a ogni scontro Cage diventa sempre più abile nell’affrontare il nemico, insieme alla combattente delle Forze Speciali Rita Vrataski. Mentre Cage e Rita continuano la lotta contro gli alieni, la ripetizione di ogni battaglia li fa avvicinare sempre più alla soluzione per annientare il nemico.
