Malgrado la Morte Nera sia stata distrutta, le truppe imperiali si sono impadronite nuovamente di Yavin. I ribelli si sono rifugiati sul pianeta di ghiaccio, ma sono costretti ancora alla fuga. Ian Solo (Han Solo nome originale), la principessa Leia e il droide D3BO (C-3PO), seminano gli inseguitori, mentre Luke, assieme al fido C1P8 (R2-D2) , si reca dal maestro jedi Yoda, sul pianeta Dogabahd, per ritrovare la "Forza". Nel tentativo di liberare Leila e gli amici, incontra poi Darth Vader, che si rivela essere suo padre. Seconda puntata (ma in realtà è la quinta) della saga di "Guerre stellari", con parecchie allusioni al celebre ciclo narrativo dei cavalieri bretoni: abbastanza evidente il parallelo tra Luke alla ricerca della "forza" e Parsifal.
