Peter Parker ama sfrecciare tra i grattacieli di New York, in cerca di delinquenti da stanare. Ma, stavolta, è in difficoltà: è diviso tra il combattere il crimine indossando la tuta di Spider-Man e passare del tempo con Gwen, la ragazza che ama. Inoltre, il raggiungimento dell’agognato diploma di scuola superiore sembra non arrivare mai. Anche se non ha dimenticato la promessa fatta al padre di Gwen, che gli ha chiesto di stare lontano da sua figlia per non esporla a pericoli, Peter non è riuscito a mantenerla. Le cose cambieranno quando, con la comparsa del nuovo e potentissimo nemico Electro, e con il ritorno del vecchio amico Harry Osborn, scoprirà nuovi indizi sul proprio passato, mentre a minacciare New York ci saranno altri malvagi nemici che gli daranno non poco filo da torcere.
