Il mio amico Arnold

Due fratelli afroamericani, Arnold e Willis Jackson, rispettivamente di 8 e 13 anni, vengono adottati da un ricco uomo d'affari, Philip Drummond, che così facendo li toglie dalla miseria di Harlem portandoli a vivere con se secondo le ultima volontà della madre dei due ragazzi e sua governante poco prima di morire. Dopo circa un anno i due orfani vengono adottati legalmente da Drummond. Le vicende si svolgono prevalentemente nell'abitazione di Drummond, un attico nei quartieri alti di Manhattan dove vive con la figlia Kimberly e la loro governante.
