Smallville

16 ottobre 1989: una catastrofica pioggia di meteoriti contenenti un minerale radioattivo, la kryptonite, si abbatte sulla cittadina di Smallville, nel Kansas. Due coniugi, Jonathan e Martha Kent, trovano in un campo un bambino nei pressi di una astronave e decidono di prenderlo con sé e crescerlo come un figlio. Dieci anni più tardi Clark Kent, il bambino divenuto ormai un adolescente, e l'amica Chloe Sullivan, entrambi giornalisti in erba del liceo di Smallville, indagano su alcuni eventi inspiegabili che si verificano nella cittadina e che sono causati dai frammenti dei meteoriti ancora presenti, che hanno modificato geneticamente alcuni abitanti dotandoli di strani poteri.

1Stagione 1Martha e Jonathan Kent sono una coppia felicemente sposata, vivono nella loro fattoria in una piccola città del Kansas, Smallville. Una casa normale, una vita normale, fino al giorno in cui una pioggia di meteoriti si abbatte sulla città distruggendo e trasformando la vita degli abitanti. Martha e Jonathan vengono salvati da un bambino, uno scricciolo di circa tre anni che solleva il furgone di Jonathan come fosse un giocattolo. Con in braccio il piccolo sconosciuto i Kent si avventurano nelle vicinanze e scoprono qualcosa che non è un meteorite, qualcosa che non è umano, qualcosa che ha portato lì il piccolo che Martha tiene tra le braccia: un'astronave aliena. Clark cresce curato amorevolmente dai Kent; è consapevole di essere "speciale", ma i suoi genitori non gli hanno mai raccontanto la verità. Dopo essere sopravvissuto a un incidente mortale causato dalla porche di Lex Luthor, Clark chiede spiegazioni e Jonathan finalmente gli mostra la "culla" con la quale è atterrato sul pianeta Terra. Clark cerca di venire a patti con la sua vera natura: da un lato usa i suoi poteri per aiutare il prossimo e mettere un freno alle mutazioni che le meteore hanno inflitto agli abitanti di Smallville, dall'altro cerca di scoprire quanto più è possibile sulla sua vera identità.200121D
2Stagione 2Lionel Luthor è rimasto cieco durante la tempesta che ha sconvolto Smallville; Lex, in preda ai sensi di colpa, decide di occuparsi di suo padre invitandolo a trasferirsi con lui nel castello. Per farsi aiutare nel lavoro Lionel assume Martha come sua assistente. Jonathan è ovviamente contrario all'offerta, ma Martha gli fa notare che in questo modo hanno la possibilità di sorvegliare da vicino i movimenti di Lionel e Lex. Clark è costretto a svelare la sua identità a Pete dopo che quest'ultimo trova l'astronave in mezzo al suo campo. Grazie a una nuova amicizia, Clark scopre delle grotte indiane che potrebbero celare degli indizi importanti sul suo pianeta di origine. Sfortunatamente non è l'unico a essere interessato alle grotte e Lionel Luthor batte sul tempo suo figlio Lex impadronendosi dei diritti di scavo. Ma le informazioni più importanti arrivano da New York, e più precisamente dal Dottor Swann, un brillante scienziato che svela a Clark la sua vera identità. Chloe accoglie Lana in casa sua dopo che Nell si sposa e lascia Smallville, ma purtroppo il loro rapporto si incrina quando Chloe scopre che Clark e Lana si frequentano alle sue spalle. In cerca di vendetta, Chloe accetta la proposta di Lionel Luthor e comincia a indagare seriamente sul mistero rappresentato da Clark Kent. Clark deve guardarsi da un altro pericolo: la criptonite rossa. Questo tipo di frammento agisce alterando il suo carattere e privandolo del suo senso della morale trasformandolo in una persona che non si ferma davanti a niente per ottenere ciò che vuole. Lex fa la conoscenza di Helen, una dottoressa, e se ne innamora a tal punto da chiederla in moglie. Ma riuscirà a mettere da parte il suo istinto naturale per i segreti e i sotterfugi? O la sua ossessione per Clark gli costerà l'amore dell'unica persona che sembra veramente tenere a lui?200223D
3Stagione 3Lex e Clark sono entrambi perduti, ognuno rimasto da solo a fronteggiare i propri demoni; Lex su un'isola deserta, Clark nell'oblio della kryptonite rossa per dimenticare il dolore che ha causato ai suoi genitori. Ma mentre Lionel sta organizzando il funerale di suo figlio, Jonathan non ha nessuan intenzione di arrendersi con il suo e stringe un patto con Jor-El per poter riportare Clark a casa sano e salvo. Anche Lex alla fine torna a Smallville, ma il suo è un ritorno amaro, dovendo scoprire chi tra suo padre e sua moglie ha cercato di eliminarlo. Lana viene ricoverata in ospedale in seguito a un incidente nelle scuderie e mentre è in riabilitazione fa conoscenza di Adam, un ragazzo strano che però stuzzica il suo interesse. Lana decide di approfondire la conoscenza e una volta fuori dall'ospedale offre ad Adam l'appartamentino sopra il caffé. Purtroppo il ragazzo nasconde un passato torbido e Lana si rivolge a Lex chiedendogli di indagare su di lui. Lex nel frattempo ha un crollo psicotico e prima che venga ricoverato, è testimone dei poteri di Clark. Disgraziatamente Lionel fa eseguire una procedura sperimentale su Lex e gli fa cancellare la memoria, per far si che dimentichi le informazioni ottenute sul suo passato. Lex cerca in tutti i modi di recuperare la memoria e di consegnare suo padre all'FBI. Jonathan comincia a risentire delle conseguenze del patto con Jor-El, Pete si trasferisce in un'altra città, lasciando Clark di nuovo da solo col suo segreto. Finalmente Clark decide di rivelare tutto a Lana, ma ovviamente le cose non vanno per il verso giusto. In ultimo, da Krypton, arriva Kara, una splendida ragazza con i superpoteri, che cerca di convincere Clark ad abbracciare il suo destino. 200322D
4Stagione 4Lionel Luthor è finalmente dietro le sbarre, ma questo non lo rende meno pericoloso. Lana fa ritorno da Parigi con un nuovo amore: Jason Teague che viene assunto come allenatore della squadra di football. Clark decide per l'enensima volta di entrare a far parte della squadra, ma questa volta riesce finalmente a giocare. Lex continua le sue indagini sulla caverna e su Clark e comincia a raccogliere reperti archeologici da tutto il mondo, reperti che in realtà sono frammenti di cristallo Kryptoniani. Lana si risveglia con un tatuaggio sulla schiena che non ricorda di aver fatto e ben presto si rende conto che è collegato al libro di magia appartenente a Isabelle, una sua antenata del diciassettesimo secolo accusata di stregoneria. La cugina di Chloe arriva a Smallville per indagare sulla sua morte, ma gli indizi provano che Chloe non è affatto defunta, ma che ha organizzato la messainscena per eludere i killer di Lionel. Lois è una ragazza sveglia, indipendente e un po' avventata. Dopo essere stata espulsa dall'università, i Kent le offrono asilo e la ragazza diventa parte della vita quotidiana di Clark. Clark nel frattempo, cerca di impossessarsi dei cristalli, ma tra Lex, Lionel, Jason e Genevieve, la Signora Teague, l'impresa non è molto semplice. Alla fine sarà Jor-El a convincerlo a fare tutto il possibile per riunire i cristalli: se Clark non eseguirà gli ordini una nuova pioggia di meteore si abbatterà sulla Terra. In corsa contro il tempo Clark riesce finalmente a unire i tre cristalli, ma non prima che le meteoriti si abbattano su Smallville e sulla casa dei Kent....200422D
5Stagione 5Clark si ritrova in Antartide dopo aver riunito i cristalli Kryptoniani, smarrito e senza la benchè minima idea di cosa fare, Clark decide di affidarsi ai Cristalli della Conoscenza che, scagliati nel ghiaccio, creano la Fortezza della Solitudine. Con l'aiuto di Jor-El Clark intraprende il viaggio per compiere il suo destino e fermare le forze del male che si stanno addensando all'orizzonte. Dall'astronave Kryptoniana emergono due luogotenenti di Zod, un criminale malvagio e potente rinchiuso in una prigione di massima sicurezza: la Zona Fantasma. Clark fa la conoscenza del Professor Fine, che lo assume come suo assistente. Fine però non è quello che dice di essere, anzi non è neanche umano. Chloe viene assunta come apprendista al Daily Planet mentre Clark perde i suoi poteri, avendo finalmente la possibilità di stare insieme a Lana. Jonathan e Lex concorrono per il Senato e Lionel decide di finanziare la campagna elettorale di Jonathan. Purtroppo la relazione tra Clark e Lana non è scritta nelle stelle e Lana, stufa delle menzogne di Clark, che nel frattempo ha riavuto i suoi poter, trova conforto in Lex, che è si un manipolatore ossessionato dal potere, ma almeno è sempre stato sincero con lei. Subito dopo il risultato delle elezioni Jonathan rimane ucciso in un incidente, lasciando Clark e Martha nella disperazione. 200522D
